Howdy all!
Welcome to the first of my little lessons. I dunno what else I'll end up talking about, but it leaves room open for me to talk in the future if I open up the possibility for more lessons. And boy, do I ever like to talk
Today's talk is on PG behavior, just for our wonderful Two-Bit who asked for some clarification. As our youngest members are 13, I think that PG13 is where we will set the behavior limits.
PG13, in my mind, has the following rules:
Swearing - okay
Drinking/Smoking/Drug use- okay.
Fight scenes/Violence - okay
Gore - okay, but try to keep it so we can stomach our lunches.
Child Abuse - physical and mental, okay, but keep it PG13 gore level - sexual, not okay. Mention it, explore the aftermath, but no one needs to read about a little kid involved in sex abuse.
Rape - not okay. Mention it, explore the aftermath, but no one needs to read it.
Sex - not okay - Just mention it and tastefully fade to black, people. Graphics are not needed, thank you.
Slash - hmmm. The book was set in 1966, but in light of gay rights, I am willing to compromise here. Treat it like any other PG13 appropriate relationship. Kissing is okay, hand holding, mentions of sex, etc. Nothing graphic and please paste a warning, if you for see that going on, so that the non-slash lovers can avoid it and I'm not playing referee over moral issues.
For example, in the rubber room, things got a little over the limit the moment there was more than the kissing. Ex. lovely hip wiggling and obviously that was leading into sex.
Suicide - though I would hope no one is going to kill off their characters, okay. But please post a warning if your post contains that.
Pregnancy - okay, just don't give us the conception part.
As of right now, I think that covers everything. Unfortunately, these guidelines in no way protect Buck's things. *sighs*
We are currently exploring the idea of an M section, but have yet to make a decision on that front. We'll update you when we do.
And that ends today's lesson on Saving the Dolphins...I mean, PG13.
Thanks for your consideration,
Buck
